My original system was a true RIMS system which utilized an electric
heating element. I have since converted to a
HERMS (Heat Exchange Recirculating Mash brewing System).
1.
Wort leaves mash tun
2. Wort pumped to coil
3. Wort picks up heat from hot liquor tank
4. Wort is recirculated back to mash tun
5. Water filter
6. Pump used to fill mash tun & for
lautering
7. Fill tube from hot liquor tank
8. Temperature controllers for mash &
hl tank
Mash Tun and Kettle are 28 gallon capacity with
stainless steel false bottoms.
